AUTUMN SEASON – COMMENCING – SUNDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2012

  • 12 February 2012: EMERALD CITY VIOLS – Consort of 4 Viols, with a beautiful soprano in a beautiful baroque concert with a baroquely modern finale.
  • 25 March 2012: ORAVA STRING QUARTET – one of Sydney’s very finest and exciting young quartets, already making a name overseas.
  • 29 April 2012: CORO INNOMINATA – one of Sydney’s very finest a capella choirs – 22 beautiful voices.
  • 20 May 2012: THE MARAIS PROJECT – our first concert with this well established exquisitely presented ensemble of two violas da gamba, harpischord and soprano.

WINTER-SPRING SEASON – COMMENCING SUNDAY 17 JUNE 2012

  • 17 June 2012: CHANTERELLE QUARTET – fabulous recently-formed String Quartet, all Sydney Symphony musicians.
  • 29 July 2012: PLEKTRA – breath-taking highly original mandolin ensemble with a south-eastern European flavour.
  • 28  October 2012: SYMPHONIC WIND ORCHESTRA – SYO’s stunning 70-piece youth wind orchestra, with conductor James Pensini
  • 2 or 7 December (date to be confirmed) at 3.00: ‘THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ORCHESTRA”: Mosman Concert Series’ own inimitable end-of-the-year concert with a versatile ten-piece ensemble and operatic soprano in a program of enjoyable classics, evergreens, a dash of opera, and our own enthralling Movie-TV-Musicals Quiz, with prizes attached.

  • 12 August 2012: SYDNEY YOUTH PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. SYO’s fantastic 70-piece youth orchestra in great classics, conducted and presented by venteran youth orchestra conductor, Brian Buggy OAM, A sheer joy.
  • 26 August 2012: SYDNEY MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA and THE SYDNEY WELSH CHOIR – a rare opportunity to hear these two fabulous ensembles in a duo concert.  When these 50 musicians gave their Mosman Concert Series performance in 2010 the Blessed Sacrament Church was packed to capacity.
  • 9 September 2012: THE 2012 SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION AUDIENCE PRIZE-WINNER – a magnificent 4-yearly event.
