Our dear Dad Alan passed away last week in hospital.

Dad had a long association with the SSO, starting as Head of the Youth concert committee when he was 17, and then as an ABC cadet when he was 20.

His many roles with the orchestra included Concert Officer in Sydney and Melbourne, which including regional touring; National Program Coordinator; and Producer of ABC family concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Manchester.

He instigated pre-concert talks and free programmes at concerts and spent 22 years of his retirement publishing programmes for all the Australian state orchestras with Playbill until his second retirement in 2017.

In his spare time, he was also President and Music Director of Mosman Music Club since the 1990s.

Dad’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 17th of January at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 62 Bradleys Head Rd, Clifton Gardens. Please wear a bright colour in Dad’s honour.
